I always save bags, papers, boxes and other materials that can be useful for shipping out orders. I had an odd shaped package today and could not figure out how to wrap it nicely so I ended up using one of my naturally dyed scarves. It got me thinking about my upcoming wrapping plans and I ended up having a little furoshiki party. Here are the results: not particularly Christmassy but I love them all the same.
I love using fabric to wrap gifts for a number of reasons:
- It is reusable
- It has a lot of flexibility (wrap all kinds of shapes and sizes)
- It’s like giving two gifts instead of one (you can use scarves, tea towels, napkins, clothing etc.)
Last weekend at our Holiday workshop in Palma, Neus showed us a couple of different techniques, both simple and beautiful.
And if you are in Barcelona this Saturday, I highly recommend this workshop offered by Neus of All Washi Tape and Angels de The Family Straps:

Gracias Jo por recomendarnos ; )
I love using fabric for wrapping presents, and using furoshiki technique when the cloth is big enough to do so.
I was in Barcelona in August (and loved the city…will definately be back to visit again)…wish I had been able to do a workshop then! Thanks for those links for future reference.
My friend bought me back a furoshiki cloth from Japan…so beautiful, indigo and white. I can also use it as a bag by knotting a certain way. They certainly are versatile.
Your furoshiki wrapped gifts look lovely… how beautiful to receive a gift wrapped like that …. what lucky friend you have.
Thanks for another wonderful post.
Enjoy the season,
Jacky xox
cloth makes for beautiful wrapping! and like you said, 2 gifts in 1!
